How-To Store Cucumbers to Last Longer
Since we just published our Cucumber and Tomato Salad recipe I thought it was very timely that I just now read an article about storing cucumbers. Years ago I was in Costco buying a whole container of tomatoes and who ends up standing next to me but the produce manager of a large local supermarket. When I commented that I didn’t know what they did to their tomatoes but they sure do last a long time he said that they’d last even longer sitting in a colander on my counter. Seems that tomatoes are one vegetable that really don’t like it cold.
