Years ago while dining at a wonderful bayfront restaurant in our hometown we queried our waitress as to what was actually in their “secret sauce” that they served with their sweet potato fries.

Now, this was way before sweet potato fries became popular. They didn’t come frozen from the store like they do now. I had to cut and fry my own, which was simple to do and with the addition of “secret sauce” my kids gobbled them up! The restaurant is no longer in business and now that a number of frozen-food companies sell sweet potato fries in our supermarkets I feel that I can reveal what our “secret sauce” is made of.

Who doesn’t like Olive Garden’s salad dressing?  You can buy it in the restaurants now, but you know you’ll never have it in the house when you really need it.  I know that while I buy it when I dine in their restaurant that I don’t always have it in my home, and it’s a 1/2 hour drive just to get there.  Wouldn’t you love, like me, to make it at home?
