Slow-Cooker Chili
This past Sunday we took all our kids and grandkids, six adults, one 3-year old and two babies (7 months and 9 months) to the Barnum & Bailey Circus at our city’s coliseum! Boy did we have FUN! I was amazed that the little ones were mesmerized by all the lights, sounds and action! Somehow I think those two had the best seats in the house! They sat on our laps, being cuddled, fed and even napped while clowns, lion, tigers, horses, elephants and a bevy of circus performers swung over, around and all but through us! The 3-year old is at a weird age, when asked what was her favorite part she mentions the bouncy-house included in the pre-show! The BOUNCY HOUSE? Really? Nana and Poppy sprung for tickets for everyone and she liked the $2 bouncy house before anything started. Oh well, that’s kids for you! LOL
We all came home to my daughter’s house after the show to share a potluck dinner. My daughter happened to have a yummy peanut-butter pie in her freezer, my daughter-in-law made a wonderful tossed salad, and I contributed a big slow-cooker full of chili! I made it in my Hamilton Beach Set and Forget slow-cooker, which I absolutely LOVE because it allows me to transport hot food to any destination without any fear of spilling it! That lid is sucked into place and just doesn’t go anywhere! Good thing if you’ve ever ridden with Michael, my husband!
So I made this great vegetarian chili because my daughter-in-law is a vegetarian. Well it was vegetarian until the rest of my family got their hands on it!
Why’s it Called Moscow Chicken?
My friend, Amy, is always great for experimenting with new recipes. Today she made her family this Moscow Chicken recipe. Why’s it called Moscow Chicken you ask? Well, because it uses RUSSIAN dressing I answer!
Amy tells me via Facebook that she hadn’t made this slow-cooker recipe prior to today but that “The whole family liked it!” Amy added a side of rice and mixed veggies and her meal was complete. I bet her home smelled wonderful all day!
