Do you like using scallions, aka green onions, in your cooking? I buy, let me correct that, bought them all the time, until my daughter, Allison, pinned an article on Pinterest that explains how to regrow them indefinitely from the roots that are usually attached to the ones I buy!
Homemade Serenity blog shares how scallion ends can regrow in in nothing more than a glass of water. Simply retain just enough of the root end so that you can stuff them into a glass of water and set it in a sunny window! In just a few days you will see them starting go GROW! Simply harvest what you need by snipping off the greens as you need them and they will regrow again! Now this won’t help you if you like using the white end, but as long as you keep at least enough to support the root you’re golden.
